How to disassemble Pokemon Go Plus Plus and how to delete vibration

The Pokémon Go Plus + has been released, but the vibration is too strong and cannot be adjusted, so I decided to remove the vibration.
It's not as hard as you might think, so if you feel the vibration is too strong, it could be a good idea to get rid of the vibration function.
But keep in mind, once you disassemble the device and remove the vibration, you can't restore it.

Before explaining how to disassemble Pokémon Go Plus +, it's important to know that the machine I'm referring to is the Pokémon Go Plus +.
It was released on July 14, 2023, and is a device that automatically captures Pokémon and spins PokéStops for you.

This is not the Pokémon Go Plus model (semi-automatic capture) that was sold in the past.

To disassemble Pokémon Go Plus +, you need only three items:

• Precision cross (+) driver PH0000
• Cutter knife
• Nippers (A knife or small scissors will also work)

PH000 Driver

If you don't have a precision driver at home, I recommend buying one because it's not expensive and it's useful to have at home for a long time. There are also many individual items for sale online, including some domestic products that are even cheaper than Xiaomi.

Disassembly process & Cut the vibration wire

Unscrew the bottom part: There are two screws at the bottom of the Pokémon Go Plus +. You will need to use the precision driver you've prepared to unscrew these. The screws are quite small, so be mindful of their storage. When unscrewing, remember that the grooves are also very small, so you need to be very careful.

Separate the top plate: If you look at the picture above, you can see that there is a streak in the middle of the screw part, which can make you think it's the top plate. But in reality, the top plate is the white plastic part.
When separating the top plate, there is one crucial thing to be mindful of. On the side opposite the screw part (red plate), there's a wire connecting the motherboard to the top plate and the lower plate (main body).

You need to be very careful not to touch the red side with the knife, because if you do, the device may not function properly.
When separating the top plate, the grooves on the side of the top plate are very small, so it's inevitable that some scratches will occur. If you don't want any scratches, you should stop right now.

Hold the Pokémon Go Plus + firmly in your hand, insert the blade of the cutter knife into the top plate groove above the screw position, and lift it up. When lifting, imagine that you are slightly lifting the top plate with the cutter knife, not prying it out. If you lift it too quickly, the cutter knife may break, so lift it slowly and carefully.

The double-sided tape is at the center of the device, so the top plate won't lift off immediately, but the white top plate will bend slightly, and the end part will lift off. If you keep this state slowly and lift it up, you can lift it without much difficulty.

Cut the vibration wire: When you disassemble the device, you will see the vibration part in the lower left. As you may know if you've disassembled a small device with vibration before, the vibration is generated by spinning a weight with a motor.
As you can see, there's an extra part made of gray metal on the left bottom.

There's a red + black wire, but I only cut the red power line. Think again before you cut the power line, are you sure you can do without the vibration?
Because Pokémon Go Plus + does not give information through a screen, if there is no vibration, it may feel quite empty.

 

To reassemble, just follow the disassembly steps in reverse.

It's so simple that it might not even feel like "reverse"!
